New Team Member

It's been a while since I had a chance to post anything. Welcome to Trisha Horner who is the newest team member.

We have much going one. This weekend we will have a table at the Ocean City (NJ) Block Party. May 17th we will be at the MayFest in the Village of Smithville. May 24th, the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend will find up holding a Flea Market in the parking lot of the 1st United Methodist Church in Tuckerton. The JOY group there is sponsoring us in that event. My mother was the group treasurer and a very active member and they are doing this in her memory. July 4th we will have a table at the fireworks and celebration at Tip Seaman Park in Tuckerton. In October we will be part of the Ocktoberfest and Irish Festivals at the Village of Smithville as well.

Our pet project is June 21st. We are hoping to have a 3 mile walk in the Borough of Tuckerton - and with any luck we will walk past my Mom's house....she was a Boro resident for the last decade+ of her life. We are awaiting final approvals for the walk.

We are all very busy with our 'normal' lives too......but we continue to raise money and walk to train even so.

Have a great weekend everybody!

And now we are 6!!

The team is growing - welcome Carol and Alice! Our team goal is now $13,200. It's a lot of money but I'm sure we are up to the task. It's still just $2,200 each and we do have 6 months to raise it. I guess I need to figure out how to get the AdSense stuff working. Once I do, visitors to this blog can click on the Google Ad on our page and we will get paid for each click. I expect that a click is a small thing....but many clicks will add up!

We're excited!

Looks like things are really starting to roll. Right now our team consists of me, Robin, Kathy, and Jen. We're setting up a brainstorming meeting for fund raisers. We already have some great things in mind.....a "yard sale" on Memorial Day weekend, tables at several big local events, etc. We have candy bars to sell at work and we're posting fliers around the building with those little tear off things where you put your URL so folks who read your flier can tear them off so they don't have to remember until they get a chance to get online. (what the heck are those called? do they even have an official name?)

Our team goal is now $8.800 since there are four of us. We have $1,005 so far.

On the way to the 3-Day

Betty's Bunnies is on the way!

We are taking an amazing journey and we'd like you to support us. Thousands of women and men are going to walk 60 miles over the course of three days to raise money for breast cancer research and community outreach through Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the National Philanthropic Trust Breast Cancer Fund.

We are Betty's Bunnies and we are walking in memory of Betty Nichol who fought a valiant 25 year battle against breast cancer and the results of its treatment but finally lost that battle last summer (Tonya's mother), in memory of Bunny (Robin's mother) and in support of Linda Olivo who is fighting for her life now - and so many others whose lives have touched ours. We also walk in the hopes that our children will never experience the horrors of this disease, either in their lives or in the lives of yet another loved one. Together, our team is planning on raising at least $2,200 per member to help end breast cancer forever and so we need your help.

Because every woman is at risk for breast cancer - a disease that strikes at random and for which the causes and cures are still unknown - we know that every moment counts. Without a cure, an estimated 25 million women around the world will be diagnosed with breast cancer - and 10 million could die - over the next 25 years.

Please take a moment to go online to http://www.the3day.org/, and select Donate Now to search for our team. Then donate to any of the team members. If you donate online, you can spread your donation out over four monthly payments.

Thank you for your support and concern and thank you for your support for our continuing journey. We will be posting to this blog as we begin to train and raise the money to achieve our goal....and then we'll report back on the event. We are excited and hope that you'll share in that excitement and help us keep going....and going....and going....for the cure.
